A lone competitor swims of the shore at Fort Island Gulf Beach during the 5th Annual Twilight Triathlon on Saturday evening in Crystal River. DRC Total Endurance Athlete Management put on the triathlon, which included a quarter-mile swim, 10-mile bike and 3-mile run. The event drew nearly 100 triathletes from both in and out of state. It is one of a series of triathalons run from the beach each year, most starting in the morning, this one began in the evening.
SIU sophomore guard Mike Dale stretches out to grab a loose ball in the first half of the Salukis' 62-61 home win over Southwest Missouri State. Dale came off the bench to lead the Salukis in scoring with 15 points. Senior Josh Warren hit a three-pointer as time expired to give the Salukis the win.

Torrez and Swale Verdict attended a meet held by the South East Hunter Jumper Association at the Sumter Equestrian Center in Nobleton. Hernando County residents Eric Lavin and Tom Cason formed the non- profit SEHJ last year in an effort to provide low-cost competitive events for beginning and intermediate riders. The organization is affiliated with the United States Equestrian Federation.
