A photographic essay or extended story. Entries in this category should portray contemporary concerns, such as rights of the underprivileged, racism, gender equality, or other topics of similar importance. To encourage long-term projects, pictures in these categories only may be from previous years' work. But, half of the pictures must have been taken or first published between Sept. 1, 2004, and Aug. 31, 2005. Maximum of 15 photos.
A portfolio should showcase your vision as well as demonstrate versatility, expertise and depth. It must include submissions from at least 4 single picture categories (cat. 1 - 9) and one multiple picture category (cat. 10 - 13). 50 images maximum. Entries from categories 15 and 16 may not be included.
A story or essay where the addition of new media tools work to enhance understanding of the subject. The project must be entirely the work of the entering photographer. No more than one story per entry.
