Zach Levison, left, talks to Mickey Lusk, right on the fire escape at a party at the CopyCat Building. What started as a cheap place for MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) students and Baltimore City artists to live, a legendary party venue, and haven for things art, The CopyCat Building has turned into one of the last standing pillars of Baltimore’s underground art scene. Due to many violations and the lack of a rental license, Charles Lankford, the landlord of the building, has slowly been evicting residents one by one to hopefully renovate the building to turn it into luxury apartments.
