Herman and his wife are visiting from Trinidad where they have been running a mission church there since 1981. They came two months ago to the United States seeking a diagnosis for an eye issue which turned out to be Glaucoma. They said they have enjoyed their visit here but are eager to return home. After 55 years of preaching and singing together, The Bluegrass Boys from Lexington hold their last revival together. The revival was held for three days: Friday July 8 at 7pm, Saturday July 9 at 7pm, and Sunday July 10 at 10am and 11am. The group consists of Ronnie Wolfe (pianist), Bob Jones (lead), Carl Morton (tenor), and Bobbie Lakes (baritone). The group had their start at Lexington Baptist College in 1967, after graduating the group traveled the area reaching all the way up to the greater Cincinnati area. Each night the quartet would sing a selection of gospel songs and each member would take a turn preaching a sermon. The group didn’t gather during the pandemic make a two year lull in their performances. Now on the other side of the pandemic, the Bluegrass Boys are considering throwing in the hat and making this their last time gathering together due to age and health issues.
