Liam Doxsee is an energetic fourth-grader from Coal Valley, Ill., living with severe combined immunodeficiency, a rare genetic disorder that affects the immune system. Liam Doxsee became a part of the Iowa baseball team as its kid captain about a year ago, allowing him access to his favorite sport and team on a deeper and more personal level. Although there are challenges that Liam Doxsee faces frequently, with help from his family, friends, athletes, and caregivers, Liam Doxsee carries out his daily activities with a smile on his face.
