Juana Aleman tries to find shade from the scorching sun during a hot day at the Chinandega dump. Juana lives beside the dump with her family and though she says she is in school she rarely goes. The help she is able to provide for her family members, who make a living picking recyclable materials from truckloads of trash, is too valuable to send her off to school each day.
