Robed Klansmen and women gather around a flaming cross burning on the compound. Crosses are burned to symbolize "the light of Christ" and the Klans belief in christianity as a purely-white religion. The IKA's cross burnings have been known to bring over 50 participants, however, this year only 12 Klan members were present on the compound during the ritual.
