CQ Smith gets his picture taken by Douglas Walker during a controlled prairie fire at Grant Wood Elementary School. He had never seen a prairie fire before and wanted to get his picture taken by it for facebook. The elementary school is one of two in the southeast side. Both schools have become classified as SINA, schools in need of assistance. More than half of the students at the school are on the free and reduced lunch program. Most of the government-subsidized housing is located in the same neighborhood.
