Mary gazes up at Bernard with confusion as he gestures with frustration trying to explain that they are at a neighbor's house. Often confined by the amount of care Mary requires, Bernard is desperate for human connections and wanted to stay while Mary wanted to go home. Bernard says he has lost all patience because of the constant care Mary requires. A rough and tumble man in his youth, he is now forced to be gentle in his actions with her.
