Three years ago I moved to California to pursue my dream of graduating from college. At that time my father went into complete kidney failure and now required three days of dialysis. He was also battling prostate Cancer which he had been fighting for over 16 years. The Cancer last year metastasized to his lungs. He chose to forgo any kind of chemo therapy so that he would be able to spend the rest of his days with his family and grandchildren, the youngest one being born in October 2014, without having to deal with side effects from treatment. The time that I have spent photographing him while on my breaks from school when I return home, have been a way for me to deal with the time spent apart. Earlier this year we were able to finally convince our parents to move out of their home, where they lived for almost 20 years, to a senior citizen home where now my father no longer has to walk up and down stairs and can enjoy the amenities that the complex has to offer.
