Children came to the top of the hill to hang out before the wrestling practice. This day is the endurance training day, a vital part of athletes' regimen, where they do various cardio exercises like running and jumping. Darvag is a monoethnic Azerbaijani village located in the southern part of Republic of Dagestan. Its history dates back to V - VII centuries AD, when a settlement was built around one of the watchtowers of Dagh-Bary, the Mountain Wall. Only a little part of the wall, heritage of the Sassanid Empire, is left. In Darvag itself, there are two small wall fragments, one in the village centre and one on the hill (pictured).
