Cherice Patterson reflects on her recovery from her gunshot wounds at her families home on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022 in Chicago. Patterson organized the vigil, which left 14 people injured from bullet wounds; including 10 family members of hers. She uses a walker as she feels the pain in her leg and foot, now with stitches. “I was on the ground and all you could hear of gunshots for several rounds. All you could see is bullet shells on the ground. They stopped and a second later started shooting on the ground as we were already wounded.” Cherice said achingly.
