During the singing of the National Anthem at the start of the Dubois County 4-H Fair Queen Contest on Saturday night R.J. Lubbers, 19, of St. Anthony removed his hat and stood quietly alongside a hallway filled with nervous contestants, who traded their farm boots and jeans for high heels and evening gowns to compete for the title. Lubbers, along with Kyle Gutgsell, 18, of Schnellville, escorted the entrants to their places on stage. Allie Beckman was crowned this year's 4-H Queen.
