Together with his family Aleksandar Nikolic is one of the last forty serbs, who still make their home in the Kosovo-Albanian capital Pristina. Before the war approximately 40.000 Serbs lived in Pristina. Most of them fled the city, however, during the war never to return. When Aleksandar was fifteen he received an award for bravery for remaining in Pristina as one of the last young Serbs. For Aleksandar it is the challenge of his life. In 2012, he moved to Mitrovica, in the north of Kosovo, to study at the university. Aleksandar is uncertain about his future prospects. "As a Serb in Kosovo, no one really cares about you," he claims.
