The four hitchhiked from Youngstown, Ohio to Columbus and are planning to travel to Maine in early August for the blueberry season. They will work odd jobs or return home when they run out of money and then save up for future travels. They travel by means of hitchhiking and freight train hopping. They identify themselves as Dirty Kids, a term that refers to a young generation of homeless traveling youth. "Life isn't about going home and watching Netflix or going to the bars every night after a day's work," said Nelson. "It's about experiences and meeting new people."
