A body of work that demonstrates versatility, expertise and depth and showcases a photographer's vision
Enzo Pires, a quilombola from Santa Rosa dos Pretos territory, sleeps in his grandmother's bed. Santa Rosa dos Pretos is one of the territories cut by the Carajas Railroad. Quilombo is an association of black people who tried to assemble traditional communities from Africa during the slavery years in Brazil. The Santa Rosa dos Pretos Quilombo (Saint Rose of the Blacks) fights until today for their demarcation in the territory. Their territory used to be a sugarcane farm.
