Small towns are often looked down on as sleepy and uneventful, but that doesn’t make the stories that come from them any less important. Take a look at a summer in Cynthiana - which may be in rural Kentucky, but could easily represent a small town in any corner of the United States. Chaotic, colorful, Harrison County.
Prissy, the 6 year old Chihuahua, Jack Russell mix barks from her owner’s front porch in the Cynthiana Housing Authority neighborhood on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in Cynthiana, Kentucky. She picked up Prissy when the dog was left at her church and no one else claimed her - she said she’d make a post on Facebook and, if the owner didn’t respond, she’d keep her. Two weeks later, Prissy’s original owner responded and picked up the dog, but promised she’d bring her back if she couldn’t keep her for any reason. A few weeks later, she did and Prissy has called the apartment home ever since.
