On 29 December 2022, Jörg (59) and Gary (45) sit together in their home in Bremen, Germany. They met twelve years ago in a gay nightclub. Gary, originally from England, had to hide his sexuality in a hostile environment for a long time before moving to Germany, where he could live openly. Jörg came out later in life, founded internal LGBTQ+ groups and became involved in the Völklinger Kreis, while Gary's family eventually accepted his marriage.
