Born with EB, 50% of his body has open, raw sores similar to 3rd degree burns. These bandages have to be replaced up to 3 times per week. Often times, in the more severe parts of his body, the bandages stick to open soars. It is so extremely painful that Garrett does not allow his mom to remove the stuck dressings. He chooses to control the pain, removing them himself. He often takes the time to remove them very slowly. Because of this the bandaging process can often take up to 4-hours to complete.
