Ty and Starr Williams walk to school from their home on the southeast side of Iowa City. The bus that comes to their neighborhood doesn't stop by their school and their mother doesn't own a car to drive them. The family of six moved from Chicago, like many other families, in hopes of finding a better place to live. They arrived on a greyhound with nothing but each other. For the first six months they lived in a college neighborhood notorious for out of control partying before receiving a Section 8 housing voucher that allowed them to move into a larger house.
