“I feel the horses as anybody else does.” When talking, Lia's memory is often transferred to her youth and she talks about it with the smallest details. She grew up among horses, her father’s family was known in the Umbria region for training carriage horses. She started riding horses when she was a child and she won many competitions in Italy. Almost everything in the house reminds one of Lia's past: images of horses on the bathroom tiles, horseshoes on the walls and under the glass of the table, cups, paintings, porcelain plates. After Lia stopped riding competitively in 1986, she worked as an instructor for twenty years and her students competed successfully.
