A participant trips and falls after running into Ontario Lake during the 2024 Polar Plunge on Feb. 04, 2024 in Rochester, N.Y. The Polar Plunge was started in 2001 by officers belonging to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. This year, over 1,700 people participated in the Plunge, with proceeds directly benefitting the Special Olympics of New York.
