At 16 years old, Abbey Fawcett’s life changed when she went into cardiac arrest during a cheer camp routine. Nearly two months later, she was diagnosed with CPVT, a rare but life-threatening genetic heart condition. This project focuses on Abbey as she navigates recovery, steps into a new role with her team, and refuses to let her bright spirit fade while waiting for clearance to return to the mat. Her story is one of resilience, community, and the power of a team.
Abbey hangs out with her teammates and friends. Due to the impact of her cardiac arrest at cheer camp, the entire team has become a support system for her, often assisting her throughout the day at school and checking in on her well-being.
