    Maritz

Jimmy Maritz (Co-Coordinator): Jimmy Maritz attended Colgate University where he majored in Geology. His undergraduate studies took him to Antarctica, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. After college he worked as a wrangler on a ranch in Colorado, then moved back home to St. Louis to take a job as a coal geologist for Marston & Marston. He also worked part time as freelance photojournalist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Currently Jimmy is a graduate student at the University of Missouri, working towards an MA in Journalism and an MBA.

    Suda

Beth Suda (Co-Coordinator): Beth Suda attended Loyola University New Orleans and graduated in 2006 with a BA in English literature. After returning to St. Louis, she worked as a public service assistant for the Missouri Department of Conservation. She then worked as a research technician for Washington University St. Louis in the anatomy and neurobiology department. Feeling slightly out of her element in the science field, she decided to move to Columbia, MO to pursue her master's degree in journalism at the University of Missouri.

    Reed

Rita Reed (Director): Rita Reed has served as Director of the College Photographer of the Year competition for the past seven years. She is an Associate Professor in the photojournalism sequence of the Missouri School of Journalism. Slaughter

Brett Slaughter (Web Producer): Brett Slaughter graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism's Photojournalism sequence in May 2005. He is a self-taught web programmer, learning Internet technologies and programming during his time at the University of Missouri. Since graduating, he has recognized that his talents as a nerd outweighed his talents as a photojournalist, and as a result has given up photojournalism in favor of pursuing a career in Information Technology, Systems Administration, and Web Development and Programming. Though, he continues to devote a portion of his time to the continuing mission of the College Photographer of the Year program by bringing the contest experience to the web. He has been responsible for maintaining this website since 2003.

    Gibbons

Ryan Gibbons (Asst. Web Producer): Ryan Gibbons is a senior photojournalism student at the University of Missouri. This is his second year assisting in maintaining and improving the cpoy.org website. His professional interests range from interactive and bilingual web design to environmental and editorial photography. In his spare time he is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys studying the physics and physiology of SCUBA diving. Ryan is a NAUI certified advanced rescue diver.
