As a Pulitzer Prize-winning documentary photographer and filmmaker, this San Francisco-based photographer is most known for her unique ability to go behind the scenes to discover and convey personal, intimate and emotional stories through images. Fitzmaurice, a Nikon Ambassador, represents a wide variety of publications, including creating content for Sports Illustrated, ESPN, National Geographic and many other respected outlets. In addition to her editorial work, she often collaborates with non-profits and foundations and also holds an impressive portfolio of commercial photography with a myriad of major brands and is a highly decorated storyteller. Deanne has won awards from American Photography, Pictures of the Year, Communication Arts, PDN Photo Annual, NPPA Best of Photojournalism, UNICEF and the Casey Medal. She began her career as a staff photographer at the San Francisco Chronicle and is now represented by National Geographic Creative. She and her husband Kurt Rogers are co-founders of Think Tank Photo.

Under the threat of persecution, Haitian-born Carl –Phillippe Juste and his politically active family were forced to flee their homeland in 1965. Settling in Miami’s Haitian community, Juste flourished academically and attended the University of Miami, where he pursued photojournalism. Since 1991 he has worked as a photojournalist for The Miami Herald and has covered many international and national stories, including assignments in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. In addition, he has worked on three documentary projects for the Historical Museum of Southern Florida: At the Crossroad: Afro-Cuban Orisha Arts in Miami (2001) and South American Musical Traditions in Miami (2002), Haitian Community Arts: Images by Iris PhotoCollective, and all are funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. Juste has been a guest lecturer for various national organizations and universities. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award. His work has been exhibited in prestigious institutions and galleries in Cuba, Dominican Republic and United States. Carl-Phillippe Juste is one of the co-founders of Iris Photo Collective in 1998, a collaboration to create a new context in order to explore and document the relationship of people of color to the world.

Molly Roberts is a photography editor, curator and photographer; she recently joined National Geographic Magazine as a Senior Photography Editor after 15 years as Photography Editor at Smithsonian Magazine. Previously she led the Washington Post Magazine and USA Weekend photography team. Roberts is an advocate for powerful visual storytelling and human rights and recently created the non-profit HumanEyes USA to present documentary photography projects in public spaces and to use powerful imagery to help illuminate complex issues facing America. Also committed to developing diverse voices in the media, she is currently the acting director and board member of the DC based, Women Photojournalists of Washington.

Don Bartletti was awarded the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography for "Enrique's Journey," a 6-part photo essay in the Los Angeles Times about young Central American stowaway migrants riding on freight trains through Mexico. In 2015, he was a Pulitzer finalist for "Product of Mexico," a year-long chronicle about the exploitation of Mexican farmworkers on ranches that grow fresh produce for export to the U.S. He retired from the staff of the L.A. Times in 2015 after 32 years and is a guest lecturer and teacher at universities and high schools across the country. Bartletti has 2 adult children and 4 grandsons. He and his wife Diana make their home in hills of northern San Diego County, CA.

Whitney Shefte is a Peabody, Emmy, Murrow and Pictures of the Year International Award-winning video journalist at The Washington Post, where she has worked since 2006. She has documented everything from AIDS in D.C., to press issues in Pakistan, to the forgotten conflict in Western Sahara. Whitney and a team of other Post journalists were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize in Explanatory Reporting for a military medicine package in 2011, and she was a finalist for the Livingston Award in 2015. Whitney also teaches video journalism at Georgetown University and is president of the White House News Photographers Association. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where she concentrated in photojournalism. Evelio Contreras is a producer, shooter and editor for CNN in New York and works on multimedia projects and personal stories for cnn.com. Contreras has spent time with families coping with PTSD, addressing mental illness and life after a traumatic event, an interest that developed after covering the Virginia Tech shootings as a print reporter for The Roanoke Times. That week Evelio transitioned from print reporting to video storytelling, teaching himself video on the job and later training newsroom journalists on video storytelling. His work has been recognized by the National Press Photographer’s Association, Online News Association, Harvard's Nieman Storyboard, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Editor and Publisher and NPPA. Evelio has presented and taught at more than a dozen universities and workshops across the country and abroad. In 2011, he was recognized for his storytelling and community work by his hometown of Eagle Pass, Texas, on the Mexico border. Evelio is a border town kid at heart, and the son of migrant workers, who like his parents, sees his travels and journeys across the U.S. as continuing the same story that they began, which is to build a better life for folks that he meets and considers like family along the way.

Eric Maierson is a freelance writer and two-time Emmy-winning editor and producer. For 11 years he was the senior producer at MediaStorm, a documentary production company in Brooklyn, New York. There, he worked on close to 100 films, including the feature The Distance Between Us. His work won four Webby Awards, the Alfred I. Dupont-Columbia Award, the Edward R. Murrow Award, and 10 Emmy nominations, including two wins. His short films have played at film festivals across the country. He is the writer and director of the critically acclaimed off-Broadway play Reprise. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Ellen, and their two dogs, both rascals.
