Don Bartletti was awarded the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography for "Enrique's Journey," a 6-part photo essay in the Los Angeles Times about young Central American stowaway migrants riding on freight trains through Mexico. In 2015, he was a Pulitzer finalist for "Product of Mexico," a year-long chronicle about the exploitation of Mexican farmworkers on ranches that grow fresh produce for export to the U.S. He retired from the staff of the L.A. Times in 2015 after 32 years and is a guest lecturer and teacher at universities and high schools across the country. Bartletti has 2 adult children and 4 grandsons. He and his wife Diana make their home in hills of northern San Diego County, CA.
