Ruth Eichhorn, Freelance Photo Editor and Curator, has edited a range of photo books and organized/curated numerous exhibitions, her most recent, Conceptual Photography in Europe, opened in Bejing in Oct. 2016.
Eichhorn worked with GEO magazines from 1988 to 2015, first as Bureau Chief in the New York office of German Geo, and beginning in 1994, as the Director of Photography at GEO magazines in Hamburg, Germany. She lead the department in the shaping of the photographic direction of the various magazines and foreign editions, working directly with contributing photographers from around the globe. She has served as a member on the juries for World Press Photo, POYi, Unicef Photo of the Year and CHIPP (Chinese International Press Photo).

James Welford: Still Division
James Wellford is a Senior Photo Editor for Global Issues at National Geographic Magazine. Previously he was Editorial Director at Visura.co and a contributing photo editor at Foreign Policy, CNN, and Smithsonian Journeys. He was the International Photo Editor at Newsweek Magazine for 12 years and is a Knight Wallace Fellow from University of Michigan. His collaborative work with photographers has received top honors from the Overseas Press Club, World Press Photo, POYi, American Photo, Visa Pour L’image, PX 3, and NPPA. He has served on the juries of the Magnum Emergency Fund, the Tim Hetherington Trust Award, the PhotoPhilanthropy Awards, Visa Pour L’image, POYi, the Aperture Paris PhotoBook Award, the Overseas Press Club and was a member of the 2012 World Press Masterclass in Amsterdam. He is on the advisory board of the Photobook Museum and the Social Documentary Network and is co-founder of ScreenProjects, an organization working on ways to create, support, and deliver powerful visual and narrative stories around the world.

Julia Robinson: Still Division
Julia Robinson, freelance photojournalist, began her career 10 years ago working for large metropolitan dailies and small-town newspapers across the US. A native of Austin, Texas, she began freelancing in her home state in 2009. Julia is a moment-driven photographer, committed to localizing national stories by documenting daily life. Her work has been recognized by Pictures of the Year International, NPPA's Best of Photojournalism, the Missouri Press Association, and the Associated Press. Her editorial clients range from the Dallas Morning News, the University of Texas and Texas Highways Magazine to The Chronicle of Higher Educations, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and Wired.

Corey Perrine: Still Division
Corey Perrine, freelance photographer based in Philadelphia, credits his 12-years in newspapers with helping craft his visual voice. His honors include being named a 5-time NPPA Regional Photographer of the Year, a 2-time NPPA National Clip Contest winner, and Photographer of the year title by Sportsshooter.com. His images have been recognized with awards by POYi, BOP, the Atlanta Journalism Seminar and the Northern and Southern Short Courses. He specializes in sports, news and portrait photography and the themes in his body of work revolve around obstacles and triumph.

Tom Kennedy: Multimedia Judge
Tom Kennedy, Executive Director of the American Society of Media Photographers, is an internationally known visual journalist with extensive print and online journalism experience, including positions as managing editor for multimedia at The Washington Post and director of photography at the National Geographic Society. Working with various organizations, he has trained individuals and teams on multimedia story creation, production, publication and distribution strategies for digital platforms and has edited and supervised visual projects that have won Pulitzer Prizes as well as EMMY, Peabody and Edward R. Murrow awards. He has served as chair of the Alexia Foundation at Syracuse University's S.I Newhouse School of Journalism and Mass Communication and as a member of the Board of Directors at the Eddie Adams Workshop for close to 30 years.

Leslye Davis: Multimedia Division
Leslye Davis, New York Times documentarian and photographer since 2012, reports across multiple desks including Investigations, International, National and Metro, and often collaborats with the paper’s design and graphic departments. In 2016, she was one of the team of journalists awarded the Overseas Press Club's David Kaplan Award for the coverage of the ISIS-led Paris terrorist attacks. Her work has been nominated for an Emmy and a Gerald Loeb Award for explanatory journalism, and the work of a team she was a member of was a finalist for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for international reporting. In 2011, Pictures of the Year International honored her for Multimedia Portfolio of the Year. Her work focuses on innovation in storytelling, grounded in the pursuit of understanding everyday issues.

Rick Gershoon: Multimedia Judge
Rick Gershon, filmmaker and photographer based in Brooklyn, NY, has been Director of Photography at MediaStorm and a multimedia photojournalist and staff photographer at Getty Images. His work has received a Webby for Individual Documentary and an Emmy nomination for New Approaches to Documentary Storytelling. As a staffer he had a role in MediaStorm’s Edward R. Murrow award for electronic journalism and the Dallas Morning News’ Pulitzer for Hurricane Katrina coverage. Rick graduated from the University of North Texas in 2004 with a portfolio that earned him the title of College Photographer of the Year and an Award of Excellence in POYi’s Newspaper Photographer of the Year category. He joined the staff of the Dallas Morning News in 2005, took on learning video journalism and was named one of the top 25 up and coming photographers in American by the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. His clients currently include the Discovery, History and Travel Channels, A&E, MediaStorm and MSNBC.
