Tom Kennedy, Executive Director of the American Society of Media Photographers, is an internationally known visual journalist with extensive print and online journalism experience, including positions as managing editor for multimedia at The Washington Post and director of photography at the National Geographic Society. Working with various organizations, he has trained individuals and teams on multimedia story creation, production, publication and distribution strategies for digital platforms and has edited and supervised visual projects that have won Pulitzer Prizes as well as EMMY, Peabody and Edward R. Murrow awards. He has served as chair of the Alexia Foundation at Syracuse University's S.I Newhouse School of Journalism and Mass Communication and as a member of the Board of Directors at the Eddie Adams Workshop for close to 30 years.
