Kate Trabalka is a second-year graduate student studying photojournalism at the University of Missouri. Originally from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, she graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Media and Communication, with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Dance. This is her first year as a student coordinator and social media editor for CPOY, having previously volunteered for CPOY 76 and serving as a student coordinator and social media editor for the 79th POY. She has previously worked as a staff photographer with the Columbia Missourian and has interests in feature and portrait photography.
