Elizabeth Underwood is a freelance photojournalist in Buffalo, Wyoming while finishing her Master’s degree. Originally from Manhattan, Kansas, she came to MU in 2016 to get her bachelor’s in Convergence Photojournalism and a minor in Russian. She started volunteering with CPOY in 2019 and POY in 2020 before later becoming a social media coordinator, coordinator and finally Lead Coordinator for the competitions. Her love for the competitions and their work has led her to now work as an Archivist for them. She has previously worked as a staff photographer, editor and Assistant Director of Videography for the Columbia Missourian and freelanced for the Jefferson City News Tribune, Missouri Independent and NJ Advance Media. Her passion lies in covering the intersection of community and sports photojournalism.
